First Rule of Fight Club: Obey the Muñecas Muertas

		Seven months ago, the Muñecas Muertas culminated their disappointing interleague season by finishing next to last in the Dust Devil national tournament. That experience rallied the ladies together in vowing that the Muñecas Muertas would return as a more competitive squad. On Sept. 30th, Duke City Derby got their chance at showcasing their refined all-star squad in Denver against the 5280 Fight Club, the Rocky Mountain Rollergirls all-star team. The first period began with DCD relying heavily on their jamming core of Kamikaze Kim, Muffin, and Katie Chingas while their main blockers (Bullet Tooth Tracy, Doom Dee Doom, Dahmernatrix, and Carson B. Demented) kept the Fight Club at bay. Although DCD finished the first period ahead with a score of 34 - 28, many of the DCD members ended up in early penalty troubles after the first period. The second period displayed the depth of the new Muñecas Muertas by having blockers coming off the bench and shutting down the Fight Club. Agent T. Bagher, Cynderblock, Miss L. Command, Spick n' Span, and Death Ro contributed in frustrating the Fight Club and putting them into penalty woes, allowing the jammer core to rack up a 77 - 61 lead at the end of the second period. Using the blocking prowess of Sabrosa along with mixing in Ooh-La-La, Doom Dee Doom, and Death Ro into the jammer rotation, the Muñecas Muertas held their lead throughout the third period finishing the game with a score of 108 - 91. The Muñecas Muertas will make their first ever home appearance when they play the Pikes Peak Derby Dames on November 11th.
